Ah, Hartford Speedway Park. Beautiful track, great people, and hot pedal to the metal racing action. What more could you want? Good food and clean restrooms? They've got you covered there, too.
It's that big dirt track that they're really all here for though. With longer straights and tighter turns than most, Hartford places a premium on driver skill. There were many there to test themselves against it. Factory stocks, super stocks, and super late models were ready to go. Sprints and IMCA modifieds had the night off to make room for the traveling super lates. And these guys travel heavy. Over 35 super lates were on hand to try for a spot in the main event.
The track announcer showed his knowledge of the drivers and racing in general all night long. This is one fine place to see top notch dirt track racing. Racing on Fridays at 8:00 pm.
